If you have a mobile phone or email address, Orange Credit Union has a convenient way for you to keep track of your finances while you’re on the move. It’s also another way to help you manage your money and reduce your fees.

 

Event Triggered Alerts

There are a number of alerts you can receive from SMS Banking that can help you manage your money and reduce your fees. These messages will be sent to your nominated mobile phone or email address automatically. Email alerts are free of charge always.

On Demand SMS Messaging

Once registered for SMS Banking, you can also make a request for balance, year-to-date interest, or transactional information to be sent to your mobile phone anytime - 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Once you have sent your request to SMS Banking, it will be processed by the system immediately and a response sent to you within a matter of seconds.

 

To make a request you will need to enter the exact message as it appears below for the account information you require. Then simply send the message to SMS Banking on 0409 659 765. Within a few moments, you will receive a message with your requested information.

 BAL (Member/Account type)

Returns balance of your specified account type. (Eg. BAL S1) or you can obtain the balance of another accessible member account (Eg. BAL 1234S1)

BAL ALLReturns balance of all registered accounts
 INTReturns YTD interest of the default account
 INT 12345S1Returns the YTD interest for the S1 account for another accessible member account (Eg. 12345)
 INT ALLReturns the YTD interest for all registered accounts
 TRNReturns last 5 transactions of the default account
TRN (Account type)Returns the last 5 transactions for your specified account type (Eg. TRN S1 or TRN 1234S1)

You can register for SMS Banking the following ways:

  • Online through Internet Banking (if you are already registered for Internet Banking)
  • In-branch

Fees and Charges

Fees and charges apply for SMS messages - the first 5 messages per month are FREE, and then $0.30 per message thereafter during the month. Email messages are always free. Please refer to our Fees and Charges for more information. You may also be charged fees by your mobile carrier.

 

Security & Privacy

When you register for SMS Banking you authorise Orange Credit Union to send account information to your nominated mobile phone. The SMS we send may contain account information that you prefer to keep confidential. Once we have sent the SMS to your nominated mobile number, we have no control over who can access this information . SMS Alerts and Email Alerts are not a secure form of communication.
