Celebrating 15 years of our Community Support Grants Program - 2021 recipients announced

Orange Credit Union is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2021 Community Grants Support Program.

CEO, Mr Andrew de Graaff was pleased with the number of high calibre applications this year, representing a wide range of not-for-profit organisations from across Orange and the surrounding region.

“We are excited to be able to congratulate the Orange Credit Union 2021 Community Support Grants recipients featuring diverse categories including youth, arts & culture, agriculture, education, sustainability and recreation.

Orange Credit Union is proud to support the following projects who are making a significant contribution to the community and the lives of others:

Headspace Orange - ‘Goal Digger’ high school student tutorial and development program - $5,000.

JAM Orange – Winter Jazz Festival planned for June 2022 - $3000.

Millthorpe Public School – Play equipment and financial literacy program - $3000.

Molong Central School – SMARTS (Spring Molong Arts) exhibition including art installation with 8 schools in the Cabonne Council area to be held on 15 October - $3500. This event will be rescheduled to early 2022 due to COVID-19 and we look forward to our involvement.

Australian National Field Days – sponsorship of the Children’s Playground including petting zoo at their event to be held in Borenore on October 21-23 - $2500. Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled in 2021 due to COVID-19.

The Orange Rotary Club – Sustainability Expo to be held on October 24 - $3000. Unfortunately, this event has also been put on hold due to COVID-19 and new dates for 2022 will be announced shortly.

“Congratulations to these successful groups. Our team looks forward to working together to further develop the community where we work, live and play, for now and future generations,” Mr de Graaff said.

“As a customer-owned bank, 100 per cent of our profits are ‘given back’ to our customers and the community through innovation in products and services, local job creation and community support and development.

“When our customers back us by banking and borrowing from us, in turn, they are helping us to back others.

“Through the combined efforts of our customers and our team, over 180 local organisations in Orange and the surrounding region have now received grant funding support totalling almost $450,000,” he said.

The next round of the annual Community Grants Support Program is planned to reopen in early 2022.
