Help to weather the storm

With the recent storms impacting the Central West region and NSW, here's a quick reference guide on how to make a claim.

We're here to help with insurance claims made easy

With the recent severe storms, including torrential rain and flooding affecting areas of New South Wales including the Central West from 19 March 2021 with are working with our insurance partners, QBE to affectly manage claims caused by damage to vehicles, homes and property. We’re mobilising our assessors, builders and other service providers to ensure we can support you as quickly as possible.

The claims team is ready to help.

To lodge a claim, customers can call 1300 734 728 (lines open 24/7) or send an email to ficlaims@qbe.com with the following details:

  • Policy number (if known) 
  • Customer’s name 
  • Customer’s address 
  • Customer’s best contact number
  • Property or vehicle information
  • Short damage description 

Please note: Customers don’t need to have their documentation to make a claim. We can find their policy number from their name and address, confirm their level of cover and begin the claims process.

To stay safe in severe weather, please remember to:

  • Always follow the advice and direction of emergency services 
  • Never try to drive through flood-affected areas 
  • Be cautious around electrical items that may have been affected by water, especially fallen power lines which may still be live 
  • Never drive a vehicle you believe may be unsafe, particularly if its windscreen is smashed, its indicators damaged, or it has been waterlogged 
  • If you’re in urgent need of ‘make safe’ repairs, temporary accommodation or emergency cash payments, please contact us straight away 
  • Take photographs or videos of any damage to support your claim and speed up claim processing time 
  • Discard any damaged goods that may pose a health-risk
  • Don’t forget to take photographs and, if safe to do so, keep a sample of the material to support your claim
  • Be aware of scammers offering assistance with claims or repairs
  • Always contact us first to ensure the works are authorised by a reputable company that guarantees its work
