The best thing about banking with the OCU is that the account has grown with me. I first joined as a teenager and am now in my mid 30s. As I've grown my banking needs change, for example greater accessibility, access to Christmas saver accounts, internet banking! My banking requirements with the OCU have been able to change, and grow, as I have lived.

Country service and hospitality

From the age of 19 my first loan with the credit union helped me purchase a motor bike to get myself to work and back. I have had many of jobs since then, and different banks. Yet what I found was that other banks compared to the credit union charged enormously high fees, I was shocked. There was only one thing for me to do - dump the other banks and stay with Credit Union, so I did. No more hidden and unnecessary fees that left me with no change. I am now 41 and I am still with Orange Credit Union as I enjoy the country service and hospitality you don't get in the city, I also trust my bank and enjoy talking to its helpful staff. Other banks try talking me into leaving and joining their banks. I ask what is it they can do better yet they never can, so I just laugh and walk away "no thanks"!

Staff have been nice and very helpful - when I was paying more than I wanted in fees for my Eftpos transactions I phoned and the staff were so helpful and changed my card to the Debit card using CREDIT means I have far less in fees and have never been happier with the a/c.
